Azure Virtual Network

Azure virtual network enables Azure resources to securely communicate with each other, the internet, and on-premises networks. Azure Virtual Network is the fundamental building block for your private network in Azure.

A virtual network enables many types of Azure resources, such as Azure Virtual Machines (VM), to securely communicate with each other, the internet, and on-premises networks.

A virtual network (VNet) allows you to specify an IP address range for the VNet, add subnets, associate network security groups, and configure route tables. A subnet is a range of IP addresses in your VNet. You can launch Azure resources into a specified subnet.
